Laser thickness gauge is a non-contact and high-precision measuring instrument. A single point vertical laser beam is applied to measure the thickness, and the measured results can be displayed at the central control panel in real time. As the host processor, the controller is responsible for data processing, point measurement, thickness and flatness data display, deviation alarm, storage, data checking, and control. Because of its non-contact measurement, laser thickness gauge provides non-destructive thickness measurement and offers more accurate measuring results compared with the contact measurement instrument. In addition, it has the advantages of non-radioactivity, safety, fast response time, and insensitive to the material of the measured object. Moreover, operation and maintenance is simple, and there is no loss of resolution from abrasion. It has higher precision compared with ultrasonic thickness gauge, and it has no radioactive contamination compared with X-ray thickness gauge.
